The Tails of Wisteria Ranch - June 2008
Ramblings on the Ranch
Hi Everyone,
I missed March and now May! Maybe it is the M months that I am
struggling with. I can't believe how time flies by so quickly.
Is it me or am I just getting older?
Billy has been working hard building the new fences and the place
is really looking great. I thought I would give you a sneak peak
at how it is all coming together.
This area is off our back porch looking southeast
at the property.

This is standing on the other side of fence.
You can see our garden (with the corn growing) and on the other
side is the pond. This area is going to be broken into two other
fenced in areas.
We have 15 acres that we are working on getting fencing put around
to let our dogs/puppies run without having to worry about them
chasing the neighbors cows!
Hope this finds you all well and doing great!
Many Blessings!
Billy & Debbie
Health Issue
What should
my dog weigh? "Ideal Weight"
As with people there are lots of health issues with allowing
our dogs to become overweight. Maintaining good weight is important
for your pet's heart health, as well as their joints and hips,
especially in the large breed dog.
A VISUAL WEIGHT CHART
High quality dog food is very important for the growth and
development of your puppy. But, proper nutrition is important
at any age for a long and healthy life of your dog.
Grocery story brand foods, use lots of fillers, which "fill" your
dog up, but do not provide any nutrition benefits. It also
makes for more waste to clean up in your yard. Plus, you have
higher quantity of feeding requirements per meal.
Higher quality dog food, does cost more in price, but in the
long run it is cheaper. Providing better nutrition keeps your
dog healthier, which means less vet costs. Higher quality food
also means you feed less per feeding, due to the greater nutritional
value you are provding and there is less clean up!
We feed NutriSouce Dog Food, but also like Eagle Pack, Life
Abundance, and Merrick brand dog foods. I know there are others,
but these I have researched.
If you feel your dog is underweight or overweight, talk to
your vet about what your pet's ideal weight should be and a
plan to get there.
Staying Connected

Sadie the Shredder! (Shasta/Frisco
puppy)
I know this picture is larger than most, but I just had to share
the full view to capture Sadie and her toliet paper raid! This
photo brings a smile to my face everytime I look at it. Look
at her innocent face.
"
Sadie has been a delightful addition to our family. Even when
she gets into trouble, such as running through the house with
our undergarments, or unwinding a roll of toliet paper throughout
the house, she is adorable.
She has gradually moved herself up in the pet peeking order as
the cats have grudgingly come to accept her. She has also become
quite the traveling canine as she always wants to ride with us.
Needless to say, she is very spoiled. She gets a lot of comments
as to her beauty, and she has a great personality. She is a strong
girl, and often we are not sure if we are walking Sadie, or if
she is walking us.
We have really enjoyed Sadie, and she has been a real blessing.
We want to thank you for making this possible."
Thank you to the Martin Family for sharing and providing such a "spoiled" life.
Admiral

Libby and Aspen puppy
"
We couldn't be happier with the "ADMIRAL". He is so
sweet and playful...Thank you so much for this special member
of our family, We just love him so much!!!"
Thank you Bart, for providing such a wonderful home for Admiral!
Wisteria's
Starry, Starry Night
Trixie and Toby puppy -- 9 months old!
Thank you Angela -- she is such a beautiful lady!
Points For Discussion
Is your dog bored?
Many of our pets are left "home" alone
as the family goes to work and to school. What happens when your
pet is "home alone?" Is he happy and content waiting
for your return, does he tear up things to occupy his time or
he is upset and anxious until your return? Do you do anything
to keep your pet company while you are away? Here is an article
about dogs being left alone.

We Recommend
Virtual
Memorials
Many times families come to us that have recently lost their
family pet. The death of a family pet can be very difficult.
One family shared this site with me and I wanted to share it
you. Critters.com is a way to create a virtual memorial to celebrate
the memories and time you shared together! I think this is a
great way to play tribute to your loved family pet!
