Wisteria Golden Retriever puppies
are delivered in our home and raised indoors until they are around
4 weeks old. We then move them to a climate controlled area that
has a doggie door that goes outdoors into a play area. This transition
helps the mom to teach them how to "go" outdoors, which
helps make housetraining easier.
Our Goldens have many confirmation champions in their pedigrees. Some of these
dogs have been imported and some are still overseas. While confirmation and health
clearances are definitely important, we also strive to raise good temperament
Goldens as well. We want loving, mellow, intelligent Golden Retrievers here at
Wisteria Goldens -- we want healthy puppies with great personalities!
Our puppies range in color: white (or what others call Platinum Blonde) creme,
or light golden. We have full English Crème Golden Retrievers, as well
has Full English Crème and 1/2 American Goldens, which then produces a
3/4 English Creme puppy.
We welcome visitors to Wisteria Ranch when it comes time to pick your puppy,
but most of our families pick their puppy online. We ask questions of our prospective
families, such as: Do you have children? If so, what are their ages? Do you have
other pets? What are you looking for in a Golden Retriever puppy? These questions
are not meant to be nosey, but we know that buying a Golden Retriever puppy for
your family is an important decision and we want to ensure the best "fit" with
matching a puppy to your family. We provide pictures at 3, 4, 5, & 6 week
intervals, as well as do temperament testing to help with the decision making
process. It is important to us that our families love their Wisteria Golden Retriever
puppy!
